Here, we believe that the chasm between mortals and Gods is bridged during two stages of life.
The first, as a new-born baby till its sixth month. The baby can't enter religious places then. That is because one should not make Gods rise and acknowledge innocence.
The second, during the coming of age ritual on the day of the twelfth full moon after the twelfth birthday. At noon, the girl/boy has a grand feast with 37 items. One of the delicacies is poisoned. The kid has to have all but one item. How will the kid know which to reject? The kid can't pray. That gives a mortal hope and that's useless here. The kid has to allow fear to peak. It's believed that one can sense the poison only then. We believe that gods live with fear not hope nor faith. That's the price of immortality.
